In this teaching, Alan Platt explores what it truly means for the Church to be present in the world — not as a protesting, absent, or culturally absorbed institution, but as an incarnational community that carries the presence of Christ wherever it goes. Rooted in Jesus’s own prayer that his followers would be sent into the world rather than removed from it, Alan challenges the Church to move beyond programs and platforms and instead embody a genuinely transformative presence across three dimensions: a Fathering presence marked by a burdened, compassionate heart for the needs around us; a Faithful presence defined by the attractive character of Christ in everyday life; and a Fruitful presence that actively takes Faith, Love, and Hope into the spiritual lostness, social pain, and systemic brokenness of our communities. It is a compelling call to stop being peripheral to the world and start being exactly what the Church was always meant to be — the body of Christ, filling every place with his presence.
